The Congress has to prove its sincerity by creating separate Telangana state sticking to its word on Telangana.
Hyderabad: Berating the Congress of playing political chicanery on Telangana, the Communist Party of India leader K Narayana (pictured) said the ruling party had no sincerity on the matter and was playing with the sentiments of the people of Telangana by floating various theories of no avail.
The CPI will organise a conference with the Left parties’ activists of 10 districts on July 28 to chalk out an action plan to bring the Telangana people to a single platform and on the same day they will announce the action plan on Telangana.
Stating that there was no need for special package for the Telangana region, he found fault with the chief minister’s road map presentation at the Congress Core Committee meeting held on July 12 at Delhi.
He questioned the chief minister, who referred to the former Prime Minister late Indira Gandhi’s letters and speeches, as to why he didn’t mention the first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s speech at Nizamabad. Narayana suggested to the chief minister to stop creating differences among the people by making useless arguments on Telangana issue.
He alleged that the Congress Core Committee was the most opportunist body.
Stating that there was no need to give any letter by any party to the Centre on Telangana issue, Narayana has said that the Centre has to clear its stand on Telangana issue. He said that the Congress party has to prove its sincerity by creating separate Telangana state sticking to its word on Telangana which was mentioned in the Congress manifesto in 2004.
Former MLA Chada Venkat Reddy and CPI (ML) New Democracy leaders were also present.
