It was a crazy Sunday for Sonam Kapoor, who was inundated with queries about her debut in Telugu cinema. A section of media reported that she has signed Mahesh Babu’s next film tentatively titled Aagadu and when Sonam Kapoor was asked about this, she categorically denied the news. This isn’t the first time that Sonam Kapoor’s debut in Telugu has made news.
Few years ago, there were rumours floating around that K Vishwanath might direct Sonam Kapoor in a Telugu film, which never happened. Moreover, Sonam Kapoor’s father Anil Kapoor had acted in numerous Hindi remakes of hit Telugu films like Swatimuthyam (Eeshwar), Pavithra Bandham, Pellichesukundham and Shubha Lagnam in the past which led credence to the rumours that he might convince her to act in a Telugu film. With Sonam Kapoor’s confession that she hasn’t signed Mahesh Babu’s film titled Aagadu, it looks like there’s still a long way to go before she changes her mind about acting in South Indian films.
Currently, Sonam Kapoor is busy with the pre-production of Nupur Asthana’s upcoming Hindi film to be produced by Yash Raj Films and the remake of Khubsoorat. This year, she’ll be seen in two films including Anand L Rai’s Raanjhnaa in which she’s paired up with Dhanush and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
