A day after Hansika confirmed that she’s going to play the lead role in Karthi’s upcoming Tamil film Biryani, Richa Gangopadhyay has clarified why she had to opt out of the project. She was supposed to play the lead role, but the film’s director Venkat Prabhu chose Hansika just before the film is about to go on floors. Talking about the development, Richa said, “I opted out of Biryani due to changes in the role and the script. Thanks to Venkat Prabhu sir for accepting my decision. Hope I get to work with him in the future. All the best to Team Biryani.” Last year, she started her career in Tamil cinema with a bang with films like Selvaraghavan’s Mayakkam Enna and Dharani’s Osthe. After that she was offered the lead role in Prem Sai’s Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum which is being produced by Gautham Menon; however, she didn’t take up the role. Currently, she has four Telugu films in pipeline including Prabhas starrer Mirchi, Allu Arjun’s Iddarammayilatho, Nagarjuna’s Bhai and Ravi Teja’s Sir Vacharu.
