Pensions to six lakh more in Rachchabanda: Sunita
This is in addition to the 75 lakh senior citizens who are currently availing pension from the State government.
Stating that the State government has been paying pensions to over 75 lakh senior citizens, minister for pensions, women development and child welfare Sunita Laxma Reddy has disclosed that arrangements were being made to extend pensions to another six lakh people during the chief minister’s ensuing Rachchabanda programme.
Addressing the media in the Secretariat on Wednesday, Sunita said that the pension being paid by the Union government was very insufficient and the pension amount being paid by the State government was the highest in the country. She said that a list of new beneficiaries to be paid pension during the next phase of the Rachchabanda programme has already been finalised.
She also reminded the media that the State government was sanctioning Pavala Vaddi and interest-free loans to women on time only.
