It’s not just is a 25-minute short film highlighting the issue of road accidents. Many well-known celebrities have lent their support to the film.

One more road accident and the victim is surrounded by anxious passersby, an ambulance appears on the scene and takes away the wounded or dead. These scenes have become a regular in the day-to-day life of people in our country.

With the intension of stirring up the conscience of many a souls on this issue, a short film titled, It’s not just will previewed at the LV Prasad Laboratory Preview Theatre on October 22. The 25-minute movie’s focus area is ‘human negligence’ and ‘irresponsible attitude’, of motorists — risking not only their lives, but also of others.

“In the current phase of society, transport system plays a vital role. If the system is not properly controlled it steals many precious lives,” points out, SAA Kaleem, director and one of the producers.

After several months of struggle to throw light on such a crucial subject touching millions of lives, Kaleem, was able to garner support not only from some famous personalities from the big and small screen, but also made a retired IPS official play the role of ‘Yamadharmaraja’.

The cast includes Dr CN Gopinatha Reddy, director-general (prison and correctional services), famous movie actors Annapoornamma and K Rajendra Prasad (RP).

“Most of the times it’s human error that results in the loss of human life. And the film tries to explore what to do in this kind of situation. The film idealistically will give a solution to prevent road accidents in view of present traffic conditions,” adds Kaleem, who himself was a victim of an accident wherin he lost his leg.

The director won accolades for his short film titled Ede Nijam (Mummatiki) earlier, which focused on ‘prevention of bad habits amongst the youth’. Starring Kallu Chidambaram, Potti Veeraiah and T Ramachandra Rao (Nandi Awardee) the film was shown at many short film festivals.

As movies are the biggest medium to reach out to masses, several short films on social awareness are shot in Andhra Pradesh at regular intervals, but very few come to the notice of the general public.

With the intention of spreading the message to everyone, the filmmaker knocked the doors of most of the big names amongst the film fraternity. “It is one of the reasons that I tried to cast famous personalities. Unless people see a well-known face they will not be interested, however important the social message is,” feels the director.

It’s not just (Telugu) was shot at Rock Castle Studio, Banjara Hills under the banner of Navya Digital Dreams and RMA Productions. Well known music director Gantadi Krishna has given music for the film, while the first scene was directed by famous director Relangi Narasimha Rao. Others who supported the project include director Surya Kiran, artists Ashok Kumar and Fish Venkat.

The preview on October 22 is expected to be attended by celebrities from both films and politics. “As the film is for social cause, several ministers and film stars are coming to watch it, at the preview,” asserts, the director of the film.
