Current session is set to go down in history as a complete wash out, with not a single issue being raised.

The State Assembly drew a blank even on the last day of this session. As the Assembly was convened at 9am, TRS members rose to demand adjournment motion on Telangana. Not contented with slogan shouting, they surrounded the podium gesticulating at the Speaker to take up the discussion.

For a change, other Opposition parties — TDP, BJP, Leftists — remained calm today. However, the throaty slogans of the TRS did not allow any business to be conducted and the Speaker adjourned the House for one hour.

When resumed, the scene remained same. With a determined TRS, the Speaker found little sense in allowing the chief minister to make a statement. He adjourned the House again for one hour and convened a meeting of the legislature affairs minister D Sreedhar Babu and chief whip to discuss if the Chair should suspend TRS MLAs for a day.

At the time of going to press no decision was taken. Meanwhile, news of veteran freedom fighter Konda Laxman Bapu’s death reached the House and it is likely to be adjourned.
