Former President APJ Abdul Kalam has said that the doctors would justify their profession only when they were providing selfless services to rural and tribal areas.
Abdul Kalam visited Medicity Medical College at Ghanpur in Ranga Reddy district here on Monday. He said that satisfaction would not count with any valuable thing if every doctor worked to fill happiness in 100 people in his lifetime service. He asked the medical students as to how many members would be ready to provide medical services in rural areas. He explained about famous doctor Sudarshan for providing medical services to poor people free of cost in Karnataka. He recalled that he and Care Hospital chairman Dr Somaraju had produced ‘Stent’ equipment earlier. He said doctors should spend time on research too.
