Trust Bollywood to add bling to any fashion show. We bring you all that glittered at the recently concluded India International Jewellery Week 2012.
With over 50 designers, 30 shows, 20 brands and a bevy of Bollywood beauties walking the ramp, it was sparkle and shimmer all the way at Mumbai’s Grand Hyatt. If the creations of designers like Vikram Phadnis, Anamika Khanna, Swapnil Shinde, Barkha and Sonal, Mohini, Alka Yagnik, Babita Malkani, Pria Kataria Puri, Neeta Lulla, Pallavi Jaipur, Lina Tipnis and Madhurima Nigam were breathtaking, the personalities sporting these gems were equally mesmerising.
India International Jewellery Week saw the best of Bollywood walk the ramp. Having started the week with Zeenat Aman decked in emeralds and Juhi Chawla dripping in diamonds, it only got better with Sonali Bendre, Susmita Sen, Neha Dhupia, Nargis Fakhri, Yamini Gautam, Bipasha Basu, walking for select brands. The closing night saw Sonam Kapoor, brand ambassador of IIJW and a radiant Madhuri Dixit in stunning black attires, drawing the curtains to a close on the amazing night. By the end of the week, there was little doubt that the India International Jewellery Week had proved to be a spectacular show.
The beautiful Nargis dazzled on the ramp in a multi strand Polki and emerald necklace, cuff, bangles and earrings from Raakesh Agarwal’s collection for Amrapali on Day 1.
Sushmita Sen walks the ramp for Birdichand Ghanshyamdas on Day 4.
The brand ambassador of Gili, thrilled the audience with her stunning entry in a Nishka Lulla creation wearing a diamond and gold set.
Sonali Bendre, the show stopper for Anand Shah, sashayed in wearing a carved lacy neck piece and cuff whith 84 interwoven peacocks in multicolour on Day 3.
Madhuri sashayed down the ramp wearing a gorgeous Anamika Khanna black gown with embroidery displaying the magnificent PC Jeweller’s Polki Raani Haar collar and choker edged with pearls.
Brand ambassador of IIJW dazzles on the ramp in a monotone solid green gown paired with a diamond necklace on Day 1.
Yami Gautam (with Ajesh Mehta and Nirmal Kriplani) in a dramatic necklace with a 3D diamond floral centre displays the Zanya collection on Day 3.
