Poets of The Fall, a Finnish rock band, will be playing in Hyderabad on Sunday as part of their Temple of Thought tour. The band is famous for its alternative, melodic rock sound and is hailed as one of the best bands from Finland till date.
These Poets started out with various associated acts but after being featured on the cult video game classic Max Payne 2, the band bit stardust. They were thrust into international limelight for their poem-song-ballad Late Goodbye, which was used as the ending theme for the video game in 2003.
After the runaway success with their first single, the band remained a tight group of three with Markus Kaarlonen, Maarko Saresto and Olli Tukiainen being accompanied by session and tour musicians through their many albums and international tours so far.
Their debut album, Signs Of Life, was a rage in 2005 and they were slated as the best newcomers in the lot. The album is in itself a tribute and a reference to Pink Floyd’s instrumental. After the debut album, their independently released single Carnival of Rust kept them soaring through international music charts. Both the album and the song were released separately, followed by their ‘cinematic rock’ albums Revolution Roulette, Twilight Theater and Alchemy.
The music enjoys a great fanbase and status on par with Apocalyptica, a sensational Finnish instrumental band. Poets of the Fall has, since its inception, carried its melancholic tone and high-end production values preserved through each album but Temple of Thought is worth exceptional praise. It would be a sin to miss them on Sunday at Leonia Resorts.
