Chief Minister has promised that the State government would soon complete the Rs.3,375 crore Godavari drinking water project to the City in a short while.

The Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has said that the State government is contemplating to complete the Godavari River Drinking Water project for the City by December this year, with a budget of Rs.3,375 crore.

Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the State government is completing the 158 kilometer Outer Ring Road worth Rs.6,800 crore soon. He said that the 71 kilometer Metro Rail Project works in the City was in full swing with Rs.14,150 crore.

He also said that the State government has already sanctioned the Krishna Project Phase-III aimed at providing drinking water to the Hyderabad City and surrounding areas with Rs.1,670 crore from HUDCO funds.

He said that the State government was hosting the International Bio-Diversity Conference (COP-11), which was the biggest international conference that India was organising since independence, in October this year in the State.

He said that about 8,000 representatives were going to attend this conference from 193 nations and presidents of eight to 10 nations were also participating in it. He added that the State government was spending Rs.450 crores for it.

He sought everyone’s cooperation to make this International Bio-Diversity Conference, which was a prestigious one for the City, the State and more importantly the Nation, a big success.

He said that the State government was also taking measures to organise a ‘World Agricultural Congress’ in November 2013 at Hyderabad.
