SC rejects Jagan’s petition against arrest

| August 10, 2012

The petition of YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy challenging his arrest was struck down by the Supreme Court on Thursday.

The apex court, which has admitted his bail petition, said that it would hear arguments on the arrest while hearing the bail petition. The apex court issued a notice to the CBI to state its contention to Jagan’s bail plea.

However, no time limit was set for the CBI to get back with its reply. The SC also heard arguments on the petition of the CBI, which challenged the bail granted to Vijaya Sai Reddy, accused No 2 in the Jagan’s ill-gotten assets case.
