Postponement of press conferences by mantris at the State secretariat has become common thing that put the P&R department in a quandary. This reporter saw how the government PR was tearing his hair in despair after sending mail after mail on the change of time and date of pre-planned press meetings.
Agreed, it is the privilege of the minister to shift a meeting he plans but he should also realise the media’s time is valuable. Indeed, there is no slave who is more adherent to the clock than the media, and yet they are the ones often coming on the firing line of those who did not quite like the coverage. It is time that mantris learn others’ time is also valuable.
