APCC celebrates ‘Kranthi Diwas’

The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) organised Quit India Day celebrations as Kranthi Diwas at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday.

APCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana hoisted the party flag and honoured noted freedom fighters C V Chary (Bhoodhan Board convener), M Venkataiah (Karimnagar), M Satyanarayana (Khammam) and N Veeresham (Warangal) on this occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Botsa hailed the services rendered by the freedom fighters. He said that the AICC meeting held in Mumbai had taken the decision on Quit India Movement resulting in the country achieveing Independence.

He said that the present generation has a responsibility to take forward the aims of Mahatma Gandhi, who gave the “Quit India” call during those days. As part of these efforts, AICC chief Sonia Gandhi has been trying to introduce 33 per cent reservations to women and the food security scheme.

He said that the nation and the State would develop only when all the people work together.
