What’s happening?
A man, said to be a mid-level official of the Central Excise department, working in the Tilak Road office, has been proving a spectacle to passersby for quite some time.
He is seen sprawled, drunk and oblivious, virtually every day. Identified as a tax official, his colleagues told Postnoon that he has become an alcoholic. For whatever reasons, he has not been going home for many months but spends his time in the office, drinking. A functionary of the Excise office said, “We have become fed up with this man. The road has become his residence. He sits on the road, drinks continuously and sleeps in the compound.” But what action have the superiors taken? There was no answer as seniors refused to comment when contacted.
