Two youngsters run over by Rajdhani express

In an incident of a desperate measure going awry, two youngsters were killed when they tried to board a running train this morning. The accident occurred between Umdanagar and Shamshabad railway stations, said D Narasimha Reddy, sub inspector, Kacheguda railway police.
One of the victims has been identified as 22-year-old Nagesh of Mahbubnagar district, who was working as a labourer. The other victim is yet to be identified.
According to the police, both the victims were friends and had boarded the train at Kacheguda to go to Shivrampally on some work. However, they missed their stop and only realised it when they had reached Shamshabad. In a hurry, they got off the train and decided to take another train back to Shivrampally. In a bid to do so, the duo tried to board a running train, but an oncoming Rajdhani express (the train was coming from Bangalore to Hyderabad) hit the two men.
In the melee, the speeding train dragged the two men for nearly 200 feet, severing their body parts and damaging their faces to such an extent that the police found it difficult to identify them, Narasimha said.
The Shamshabad station master informed the Kacheguda police about the incident. The bodies of the two victims have been moved to the Osmania Hospital mortuary for an autopsy and a case has been registered. “We have registered a case and are investigating the matter. But we can’t say much till we find out more,” Narasimha said.
