Not only should the aesthetics, the design should solve the purpose of the residence. For instance, every room has its own function in a residence. The master bedroom has a different function from the child room. The master bedroom has to have soothing colours and everything should be designed in a pattern to make the the couple relaxed after a hard day at work. On the other side, the child’s room is different according to the gender and also have certain theme that reflects his/her interests, said Vaishali.

Interior design should reflect the time which we are living in. The horizontal space is getting lesser and the vertical extension is taking place. The designers are also looking to make the house more spacious by developing open kitchens. Usage of glass and mirror also makes it spacious. The furniture is also simple and does not have heavy carving work now as people don’t have time to maintain the furniture. The contemporary style is a current trend, where the usage of glass and steel is more and there is also preference for eco-friendly and light weight products.
