Which was your most recent trip?

I recently went to Dubai to attend the SIIMA awards.

What was your most memorable moment in your trips so far?

My most memorable moment was when I went to Jaipur eight years ago. Somehow, I like Rajasthan a lot. It was quite interesting to visit all the forts and listen to conspiracy theories about the kings et al.

What’s your idea of an ideal trip?

For the past five years, I have been planning to go to the Himalayas. There’s a saying that the mountains have to call you instead of the other way round. There’s something special about the tranquility in those mountainous regions. I am more into cultural tourism rather than being a typical tourist who would quickly visit all the tourist destinations in a place. I am more likely to search for the closest temple in the vicinity. It’s more than just being religious. The historical background of temples interest me a lot. I really want to know more about the kings who built those temple, what was the concept behind the construction and whether there were any famous composers like Annamayya or Thayagaraja associated with those temples. Even if I do go to popular tourist destinations like New York, I am more likely to check out the libraries and museums.

One thing you’ll never forget to carry when you are travelling…

Chargers for my laptop and mobile phone and some basic medicines as a precautionary measure.
