CCTV captures thief

Some unidentified people stole silver ornaments worth lakhs of rupees from a popular Saibaba temple situated at Lower Tank Bund under the Gandhinagar police station limits late last night. Interestingly, the CCTV has captured an image of a man who is suspected to be the thief, sub inspector of police Gandhinagar, RKM Naidu, said.
On Wednesday, the temple was closed to the public as usual at 9.30 pm. However, sometime later in the night, burglars broke into the office building by cutting the grills with hacksaw blades. Three almirahs in the office were broken open and 5 kg of silver ornaments stolen.
The incident came to light when the priest and managers opened the temple early on Thursday morning. The temple committee chairman M Anjaiah lodged a complaint with the Gandhinagar police. Naidu and his team discovered the image of a man who they believe is responsible for the theft. Investigation is in progress.
