Floyd’s sentence starts
LOS ANGELES: Unbeaten US boxer Floyd Mayweather tweeted a picture of himself and his young daughter Friday, before surrendering in a Las Vegas court to begin a 90-day jail sentence. “Me & my daughter spending precious time together before I leave my family, friends and fans…” Mayweather said on the social networking site.
Mayweather’s sentence for battery had been postponed until June 1 so that he could fight Miguel Cotto on May 5 — when the American won Cotto’s World Boxing Association super welterweight title with a unanimous points decision.
Mayweather had pleaded guilty on December 21 to domestic violence charges.
