For the first time ever, South Indian film industry will have its own international awards show on the lines of IIFA. A brainchild of Vishnuvardhan Induri, who was also a key member of CCL, South India International Movie Awards (SIIMA) was conceptualised to promote south Indian cinema on a global platform and increase overseas revenues. The awards ceremony is going to be held on June 21-22 in Dubai and we hear that Madhavan and Lakshmi Manchu are going to host the show. “Yep it’s official. I’m super excited!! (sic),” Lakshmi Manchu posted on Twitter. Celebrities from Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada film industries are expected to attend the event and sources say that the team behind SIIMA is leaving no stone unturned to grab all the attention since it’s the inaugural edition.
