He asked the mayor to pass a resolution demanding the government to reduce sales tax. He wanted it reduced by half to give relief to the people The Mayor declined the request saying that the petrol price did not come under the corporation.
Mayor, commissioner fume
The attitude of corporators on various issues also angered the mayor and commissioner MT Krishna Babu during the meeting. Reacting on the raising of petrol price issue by TDP corporators, the mayor had repeatedly told them not to raise the hike issue as it is not the responsibility of the corporation. Expressing his anger, the mayor smilingly asked the TDP members to ride bicycles as it is their party’s symbol. The discussion on street lighting issue also angered the mayor. This time around, the commissioner also joined him as there was lot of din in the hall.
