Chennai have the advantage
A lot of things are at stake for Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders as they face each other at the Eden Garden. Of the two Chennai seem to have the advantage, as they humiliated Delhi Daredevil in their last match, but if they lose to the Knights today, the fate of their qualifying to the next stage will be dependent on many other factors, not a nice spot to be in. But the way they ran through the Daredevils’ batting line-up and chased their rivals’ paltry total gives them oodles of oomph.
KKR come into tonight’s encounter still ratting from the severe beating they took at the hands of Mumbai Indians. Despite all that, their getting into the next stage look highly likely with one more win. But for them, it’s not about winning and qualifying to the next stage. It’s about living up to the expectations which the Knights have not been really able to since the very first IPL. Only a spot in the final in this edition can do that.
