Road woes for Krishna Nagar
Traffic snarls have now become a common problem for Krishna Nagar residents and commuters who use the stretch on regular basis are having a tough time.
Even after the recent introduction of one-way traffic movement on the stretch the traffic flow is not at all smooth along the one-way route.
“The road is very narrow and adding more problems to it is the debris of the digging work that was undertaken. Half the stretch is covered with debris that makes it more difficult for big vehicles to commute. During the evenings, the traffic goes haywire because many buses ply on the road. This is a problem for the auto drivers and other vehicle drivers who use this road” said K Neelkantan, a regular commuter.
The stretch also connects to Yousufguda and Srinagar Colony. Many a times, four-wheeler and three-wheelers find it difficult to cross this stretch because of the traffic coming from the Chiranjeevi Blood Bank road. “Every day I take this road as it is the only route for my home and my car suspension is getting spoiled because of the terrible road. It takes me more than 30 minutes to cross the area,” said Ajay Nayak, an MNC Employee.
“Many a times we stop our vehicles somewhere in the corner or under a tree shade and carry the gas cylinders to the houses in the area which are more than 200 to 300 metres away,” said one of the gas suppliers in the locality.
Adding to the woes of the commuters is the recent summer showers that have left water logged at many places. This makes the road even more inaccessible. The commuters and residents of the nearby areas feel the traffic jam is more because of the pathetic road and not because of the one-way.
When we tried to contact the local corporator to get her views on the issue, she was not reachable.
