MI take on upbeat KKR

Mumbai Indians may currently be placed among the top four teams on the points table but this may not remain their fate if they lose another match.
Having being thrashed by the Challengers from Bangalore in their previous match, Mumbai will have to pull up their socks and improve their performance to stand a chance to make it to the playoffs.
Mumbai were in shambles when they played RCB on Wednesday. Most of their main players failed to fire — James Franklin managed to score just one run and Rohit Sharma failed to open his account while Sachin Tendulkar and Ambati Rayudu could not get past the twenties.
In their bid to have a successful campaign, the Champion League title holders will have to win against KKR when they clash with the Knights today.
The Knights began the tournament on a dismal note but soon found their footing and are currently placed at the second position with 17 points. A win in this match will have KKR once again top the table — a position which has seen a tussle between the Knights and the Delhi Daredevils.
Kolkata have put up a splendid performance in the recent past, which even saw them defeat the Daredevils. Gautam Gambhir has led from the front amassing 457 runs this season. The other Knights have shone too — Brendon McCullum, Jacques Kallis and Sunil Narine, to name a few.
KKR do not have much to worry about as they and Delhi are comfortably perched at the top of the table.
However, season’s favourites, MI, even if they clinch victory against the Knights, cannot breathe easy yet, since their poor net run rate, performance of the other teams and also their own is going to make an impact on deciding which teams proceed to the next round.
