It is believed that the film which wins the Palme d’Or, the highest prize awarded at Cannes, has bright chances to shine at various award ceremonies like BAFTA, Golden Globe and Oscars. This year, the 65th Cannes Film Festival will be held from May 16 to May 27.

Although Cannes and Berlin film festivals have overtaken Venice in terms of popularity, it’s still rated the third most prestigious film festival in the world. Golden Lion is the top prize awarded at the Venice Film Festival.
Berlin Film Festival
Berlin Film Festival officially began in 1951 and it is held every year in February. It has also emerged as an important destination for producers and distributors across the world to meet at the European Film Market (EFM) to negotiate film rights. Golden Bear is the highest prize awarded here.
