Deccan Chargers take on Kings XI Punjab today on home turf. Another defeat for the Bulls and it is curtains down for sure. Though few would term the side, truth is they let go of many chances. If there was a court of law about the manner in which a team played cricket, the Chargers would have been found guilty on many counts — inaccurate bowling, dismal batting and worst, sloppy fielding.
DC had numerous opportunities of winning matches during this season like when they played against Mumbai Indians for the first time. But they failed to capitalise on such chances and gifted away matches to their opponents.
Dale Steyn, one of the few players who seemed to be consistently contributing, seems to have lost his form since the past few games.
While it is hard to imagine the Chargers improving their standings on the points table, the Kings from Punjab would hope to win against the Bulls and improve their chances of qualifying for the next round. They would hope to wipe out the ghosts from their previous clash when they met RR, losing the match by 43 runs. While DC is most likely to play for pride, KXIP would play with all their might.
