Click! Click! Click!

Indians are notorious for their obsession with clicking pictures of every possible landscape whenever they go abroad. Too much of anything is bad and obsession to click pictures ranks high on that list. A picture might be worth a thousand words, but it completely defeats the purpose of travelling. Put that camera away and instead bask in the glory of the local culture.

Flying to the roost

Honing in on the nearest Indian outlet should be the last thing on your mind, no matter how hungry you are. Not only will it lack any authenticity but it’ll also be so expensive, you might as well give the local cuisine a shot. As the famous adage goes, ‘When in Rome, be a Roman’.

Planning it to down to the last minute

One of the several joys of travelling is the surprise factor. You never know where you might end up while exploring a place or whom you are going to meet. It’s good to know some of the basics like what to do and what not to do, but planning everything to the last detail completely takes away the joy of spontaneity

Package tours

Believe it or not, you can’t see the whole of US or Europe in 10 days and 11 nights. Going on a package tour will never let you appreciate the beauty of any place since you are always running out of time. Instead, stick to one country or a city and explore it as thoroughly as you can.

Public displays of affection

So you like kids and can’t help pulling their cheeks. Try and rein the impulse when you are travelling abroad. People there are quite touchy about strangers touching their children. So it might even land you in trouble. Trust us, it happens more often than you think.
