Royal clash for DD

The Daredevils from Delhi are having a dream run this IPL . DD is the only team to have won six out of eight matches and are currently on the top in the points table. Touted as the underdogs at the beginning of the tournament because of their dismal performance in the last edition, Delhi have scripted a different tale — one which would silence their critics.
The Daredevils who scored a thumping victory over pre-tournament favourites Mumbai Indians in their previous clash, will now take on Rajasthan Royals on home turf. With their current form, Delhi have little to worry about — Virender Sehwag has led from the front while Kevin Pietersen, Ross Taylor and Mahela Jayawardhane’s batting exploits have been a threat to their opponents.
The bowlers too have made lasting impressions this season. Morne Morkel continues to hold on to the purple cap with 17 wickets in his kitty while Shahbaz Nadeem, Ajit Agarkar and Umesh Yadav have struck regularly. Irfan Pathan, whit his all-round skills has proved what he is capable off.
However, Rajasthan Royals do not have a similar tale to narrate. The Rahul Dravid led team is placed fifth according to the latest standings. The Royals have lost their last two matches — the first against Chennai Super Kings and the next against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Rajasthan began the tournament on a positive note but failed to continue that
performance. They faltered a few times and let go off a few tight matches. RR have players like Dravid, Ajinkya Rahane, Brad Hogg, Kevon Cooper and Owais Shah who can turn the tide in their team’s favour.
But whether these players manage to fire their arsenal or not against the Daredevils, remains to be seen.
