A hot trend this Spring Summer is chunky bangles. As seen on many international fashion shows, here are a few examples of these accessories to wear now
arl Lagerfeld’s vision for the Chanel woman this season is living underwater. With color tones of white, aqua, pearl, and crème, this collection was an ethereal introduction to Lagerfeld’s sea world vision. The bracelets in a knot pattern reflected metallic colours that are seen inside of sea shell. Even if you can’t afford to buy this collection to wear head to toe, these simple bangles will give you a good taste.
Silvia Venturini Fendi the creative director of Fendi introduced beautiful metal cuffs that were stacked together and worn by the models on the runway. The inlay patterns on the cuffs were in colours from the collection – red, green, mustard. The designs were in uniformed linear lines and dots. These would look great worn even with casual clothing and elevate the elegance level of the look immediately.
Balenciaga is one of those brands which are defining the trends to come in the near future. Its designer Nicolas Ghesquiere used worldly textures, prints and colors for this collection. The bangles were in transparent plexi-glass stacked together over shirts to give a very futuristic look.
This young Italian designer is a favourite of the European girls who love to party. His collection had many options for the girls to wear for an evening out this season. The arm jewelery especially stood out. For this SS 2012 show, he put serpentine and swirly animalistic shape bangles and cuffs all over the models’ arms. These cuffs would make any outfit a party outfit we believe.
The signature Hermes orange colour was prominently seen on the runway for spring summer 2012. What was hard to miss were the luxurious leather stack of bangles in the same orange tone which gave a sense of opulent playfulness.
Bangles in their true sense, the designer’s SS 2012 accessories resembled very closely the Indian traditional thick ones. Stacked together in a series of same colour but different shapes on models, this looked like a great amalgamation of western wear with ethnic.
Marni is an Italian label that loves to dress women in a very ladylike manner. But in no means does it indicate the label to be boring. The collection is a festival of colours and patterns which enjoys the maximalist bohemian heritage. The bangles shown here were in different shapes and in metallic gold and enamel white, green and blue.
The Moschino wearing women loves to have fun and play with fashion. With a busy look of gilets, and embroidered dresses, the cuffs were kept as simple and similar on both hands of the models. In basic colours like black and white, these cuffs made the collection modern and wearable.
At Etro the 20s art deco style was the inspiration for the collection. Flapper dresses with beads and mixed prints made this a modern day version of the swinging twenties. The metal cuff on one arm supplemented the busy collection very well. The cuff adds a nice jewelled detail to a summer evening wear look.
Balmain spring summer collection celebrates the opulence that the brand is recognised for. Rich brocades, gold motifs, and jewelled accessories in sillhouttes like shorts, sports jacket, high waist trousers. The cuffs or bangles had gold work similar to the work on the belts and jackets making the hands accessory a very important part of the collection.
