In this current age of industrialisation and urbanisation, where the sounds of the chirping birds are replaced by the by the horns of vehicles, where instead of fresh oxygen from the trees we breathe in hydrocarbons. Earth day is one thing that will help us get closer to the natural environment. And on this occasion, the city of the Nizams is all geared up to observe Earth Day in style.
The ‘I go Green Foundation’ will be organising a newspaper campaign in Miyapur. For this, they will be sending pamphlets to various households in the area which will be telling them on how to lead an eco friendly summer. The event is named ‘Kick Off The Green Summer’. And I go Green’ is also hosting an event at the Forest academy, Duvellapally from 9am to 12pm. They will be performing a ‘Green song’ which will be followed by a series of events including celebrations of the organisations.
Another organisation ‘Hyderabad Goes Green’ is holding a compost workshop at their store in Banjara Hills. There will be three sessions, at 11am, 2pm and 5pm. It is aimed at educating the people on how to dispose the waste in an eco-friendly manner. The sessions are free and open to all. Also, The School of Humanities, Hyderabad Central University is organising the screening of a movie called ‘One day on Earth’ in their campus from 5pm to 7pm.
With so many events lined up in the city for Earth Day, it is upto us, to step up, and join these events in order to get a greener, cleaner and better Hyderabad.
