Kondru Murali Mohan

Date of Birth: July 8, 1969 – (Lavetipalem)

Constituency: Rajam

District: Srikakulam

Education: BE-MBA

Experience: Two terms MLA, trounced heavyweight and former speaker of TDP regime K Pratibha Bharathi in 2009 elections.

Worked as Government whip before taking over as the Minister yesterday.

Popular for filing a disqualification petition with Speaker N Manohar against the Congress MLAs who supported Jagan.

Pros:

Nominated to strike a balance with the Mala community in Srikakulam, especially with the recent incident of desecration of Ambedkar statues.

Can mobilise Mala community support for the party from Srikakulam.

Cons:

BCs in the district are already opposed to him.

Doesn’t enjoy good rapport with some colleague MLAs

Third minister in the district

Why only he?

The demolition of Ambedkar statues exposed the fact that a lot of Mala voters are drifting towards YS Jagan. Even a minister in coastal districts is said to be in touch with Jagan camp. Murali would balance the loss, if any.

Experience: MPP Chairman Marpalli frm 2001-2006

Elected as MLA Vikarabad in 2008 by- elections.

Elected as MLA Vikarabad 2nd time in 2009 General elections.

Working as Chairman , SC committee, APLA.

Pros:

Belongs to G Venkatswamy and P Shanker Rao’s family, a distant relative.

Trounced TRS heavyweight A Chandrasekhar in Vikarabad.

Belongs to anti-Sabitha Indra Reddy group in Ranga Reddy district.

Can take on the TRS mass base in RR district.

Emerged as dark horse due to community equations

Cons:

Cannot keep his flock together, works against the Home Minister

Has to have clarity on the subjects that he gets.

Remains subservient to Kichennagari Lakshma Reddy, a rich legislator from the district

Why only he?

One of the three Mala MLAs in Telangana. The other two are: the ousted Shanker Rao and first-time MLA Arepalli Moahna Rao. So enjoys TINA (there is no alternative) factor.

 

N Uttam Kumar Reddy

Date of birth: June 20, 1962 Represents Huzurnagar Assembly constituency

Education: BSc from National Defence Academy

Hobbies: Sports and reading .

Experience: Was a fighter pilot and Squadron Leader and retired due to back pain.

Served as ADC and Comptroller to the President of India (R Venkatraman). Resigned in 1994 and joined the Congress

Chairman, Public Undertakings Committee, AP Legislative Assembly.

Served as fighter pilot in IAF, Flew MIG-21, and MIG 23 Aircraft in frontline fighter squadrons. Decorated for gallantry in Siachen and other operations.

Present positions: Won with biggest majority in entire Telangana region in 2009 elections.

Pros:

Nominated to strike a balance in the place of Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy in Nalgonda district and Telangana region.

His education and experience with armed forces and Rashtrapathi Bhavan will add to his stature.

Cons:

Needs to improve media and public relations.

Work on an agenda for the development of Nalgonda district.

Why only he?

To do balancing act to veteran K Jana Reddy from the district.
