The power of accessorising still lies undiscovered by most men. No matter what style dilemma you are in, there is always an accessory at hand. Our star of the week is the wristwatch

It is one accessory that has been associated with men for a long time. While women have a lot of statement pieces which can be worn as accessories, for men a wristwatch speaks volumes about who he is.

You could be a great decision maker, but putting a finger on the watch that is apt for you can be quite a challenge. Fashion designer Ramzi D’Costa says, “I love watches and I can’t imagine myself without an appropriate watch, ever! Watches with bling are the best. I think the stone-studded watches are classic, they make quite an impression.” He goes onto say, “However it is important that you don’t crossover to femininity and I also think that the bulkier a watch is, the manlier it gets. Also, bulky watches, with metal and stones are the best a man can wear.”

Leather watches are the most popular choice with all ages. Fashion designer Aliya Baig tells us why. “Whether it’s for a high-school boy, a businessman or a corporate employee, leather straps can be used by all. Leather straps seem to have a formal yet rugged stylishness that gives it the appeal. The trick to make your leather watch look cool is to pair sport dials with leather straps, it’s a great combination and can be worn at anytime with any attire,” says Aliya.

Stop watches, chronographs, tachometers, calculators, alarms– Yes, you guessed it right, we are talking about sports watches! A must-have for every man, RJ Prakriti tells us more, “I think sport watches are one of the best kinds. Some of the best ones are the stainless steel, leather and rubber straps. The waterproof watches and the ‘shine in the dark’ are features that are great for sports watch lovers and add that extra element of sportiness to it!” She adds, “Most of the men I know have a sporty streak in them and I think it is a great declaration of their style.”

For all those who find a classy option and find it difficult to make a choice between the zillions of styles and designs — lucidity is your answer! On that, socialite Kunal Mathur, a watch aficionado with a collection of over 600 watches says, “The safest and classiest way out, is to wear clear dials (a stud will enhance it) with plain yet shiny leather straps in white or black. Also, one simple straight metallic band strap will give you the aristocratic look.”

So dear men, remember watches are an extension of your sex appeal, so go ahead and flaunt your time piece!
