Sai Reddy’s CBI custody: HC dismisses order
HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday struck down the decision of the Special court for economic offences handing over Vijaya Sai Reddy, vice-chairman of Jagathi Publications Pvt Ltd and personal auditor of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, to CBI custody.
Dismissing the lower court’s decision, which was challenged by Sai Reddy, the High Court said that the CBI could approach the special court for CBI to seek extension.
The economic offences court judge Sudhakar Naidu sent Sai Reddy to CBI custody for seven more days. Sai Reddy was placed under CBI custody for interrogation by the CBI court for five days already.
The economic offences court dealt with the CBI petition seeking his custody as an in-charge court in the absence of V Nagamaruthi Sarma who went on leave on January 9.
